About the Blog

A few friends have asked why and how I got into decorating cupcakes; I'll have to admit that the story is not very interesting, in fact, it's rather sad. Many of you know that I have a job that requires a lot of sitting in front of a computer screen. Don't get me wrong, I do earn my keep by cleaning LOTS of windows and exercise equipment, but when my morning cleaning rounds are done and the towels have been folded, there's a lot of down time. I used to fill this time with reading, homework, and Facebook. Then one sad, sad day my company decided to put some Parental Controls on the computers which made my facebook activity at work impossible, and with school out for the Summer I had no homework to do. So, I started cruising baking blogs and let me tell you, those things are addicting! My mind was filled with recipes to try and ideas for decorating, and since the majority of my family and friends have birthdays in the Summer months (I can really only count a handful who do not), I decided to use their birthdays as an excuse to practice :)

I never imagined myself to be "one of those people" who blogged, but here I am! After making a BBC page on Facebook, I realized there were a few people in my family who couldn't view the page because they do not have a Facebook account. The person most upset by this was my biggest fan: my mom <3 So yes, the one lady in my life who has no desire whatsoever to join any type of social networking site is the sole reason and inspiration behind creating my blog. Thanks, Mom!
